Our Dancing Princess

This weekend Makenzie danced at the Celebrity Dance Competition in Mesa. Her group number placed 2nd in their category and her solo, Brahms Lullaby, earned a gold award and a special Celebrity Award. I love watching her on stage and can't believe how tiny she looks up there. She still plays soccer and softball but she LOVES to dance with all her heart. We are so proud of you Makenzie Rose!!!!!!

Grandpa Stratton's Birthday

On April 13 we celebrated Grandpa Rusty's 62nd birthday. We started out the evening with a game of bowling followed by dinner at the Strattons house. It was a fun evening and we enjoyed being able to share in his special day. The kids always love their time with Grandpa and look forward to playing with him. I don't know how he does it but he seems to look younger at every birthday. Happy Birthday Russ! We love you!!!!!!

Easter Sunday

Easter Sunday was a busy day for us. Brendon took the kids to Grandma Hoffmanns house for breakfast while I taught Sunday School and then they met up with me for Easter services. Afterwards we met up with my dads side of the family for some fun in the park: kickball game, egg toss, balloon toss and a squirt gun fight. This was followed by some lunch and an easter egg hunt.

Braden loved looking for eggs. He had so much fun opening them after he found each one.
Brody loved squirting people with his squirt gun

My Aunt Kay and my cousin Chantel brought their horses to the park and took the kids for a ride. They loved every second of it. Here's Madison with my cousin Chantel and her horse Boomer.
Hunter rode on Silky. He was so proud of himself that he rode all by himself. He is truly a cowboy in the making.......he couldn't ride long enough and got so sad when they had to leave.

We had such a special day playing with family and enjoying the beautiful Arizona weather. We got to catch up with a lot of extended family members we don't see very often. Family means the world to me and I loved having the chance to see everyone. I am so thankful we have family so close to us and have the opportunities to see them as much as we do.

Great Grandpa Spud

Great Grandpa Spud came down to the valley for the weekend. He spent the afternoon over at the Strattons and we got the opportunity to hang out with him. The kids always get excited to see him and we love every minute we get to spend with him. We wish we could do it more often. We love you Great Grandpa Spud!

Easter Eggs and Cupcakes

This afternoon we made easter basket cupcakes and tie dyed easter eggs.

Start of Easter Weekend

The kids had school off on Friday for Easter Weekend. We've been wanting to go camping but haven't had any luck sneaking away. Brendon helped the kids build a fort that covered most of the basement and we had a movie night in our homemade tent. It was a great way to start our three day weekend.

Happy Birthday Bampa!

Today my dad celebrated his 62nd birthday. We joined him at Ted's Hot Dogs followed by ice cream at Baskin Robbins. On the way home from the celebration I asked the family what things they loved about their Bampa..........kids say the funniest things.

Madison: He takes us fishing, he has funny nature experiences, tells good stories, gives us candy, he's smart, a good fisherman, a good cook, he knows alot about country actors

Makenzie: Funny, nice, he built a cabin for us, I like his beard, I love him, family

Hunter: Silly, I like it when he tickles us, he's fun to play with, nice beard, he tells funny stories

Brendon: He's a pagan!!!! (just kidding......inside joke!)

Dad, We love you!!!!! Thanks for everything you do for the family. HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!!!!

Here's some of my favorite pictures I've taken of the birthday boy over the past couple of years. We've had many great vacations and some funny times together. Thanks for all of it!
