Hunter's Haircut

Yesterday Hunter and I were working on his homework when he said he needed to use the restroom. He was gone only a short time, and when he came back I was working on the computer trying to find him some school stuff. He talked awhile and finally asked, "Mom, do you notice anything different?" Being the typical busy mom, I didn't look up right away and said, "Huh?" He repeated the same question. At that point I figured something was up. I looked over and what do I find, but Hunter happy with his new haircut.......done by himself! I have to admit, I was a little sad and disappointed, but deep down I was giggling because it looked so terrible. I knew I couldn't laugh, I needed to make sure he knew I thought it was a bad choice so he'd never do it again. The picture above is the picture I first took. He thought it looked marvelous but wasn't too thrilled that I didn't have the same response.
Once Makenzie walked in the room and her jaw dropped at the sight of her younger brothers "do", I couldn't keep my composure. I cracked a smile, which Hunter immediately saw. He smiled a little back and I couldn't help it. The giggles wouldn't stop. I remember Madison doing this but she was like 3! I can't believe Hunter did this at 7! And it's such a fabulous job! :)
We ran to the barber shop that evening but found it was closed on Mondays. Hunter had to go to school with his new hair! He tried to wear a hat but school rules state there's no hats indoors. He said his music teacher specifically asked if he cut his own hair. He proudly answered, "Yes!" I hope she has kids of her own so she understands! :)

I did get his hair cut after school on Tuesday (picture above). He loves his new, short hair.

At dinner he proudly showed Brendon how handsome he looked. Here's the conversation between them...........

Dad: Hunter, you could be a barber some day and cut hair when you grow up.

Hunter: Yes, but I wouldn't be a very good one!

Madison Club Soccer Team

In May, after not playing soccer for 4months because of a broken back, Madison strapped back on her cleats and tried out for the Ahwatukee Foothills Club Soccer Team. It was a struggle getting through the tryouts after being down for months, but she pushed through and landed a spot on their team. We were so proud of her hardwork and determination. As you can imagine, this is a time consuming sport and she's spend a lot of time on the field this year. She loves every minute of it and the girls on the team are sweethearts. We are so thankful for the team and Madison's health. She's playing great and her injuries have healed (yeah!) We've done some traveling with the team and along with Saturday league games, they play in tournaments atleast once a month. Twice they've made it to the finals, went tied in through two overtimes and ended up loosing in a shootout at the end. Such a heartbreaking way to get 2nd place.

Makenzie's head shots

Hunter starts football and soccer

Flag football: The warriors. His mouth piece cracks me up! Soccer with the spotted dragons
Hunter got invited to play on these two teams with some friends from school. We really wanted him to start meeting some new friends so we broke down and did both teams. I think we may have lost it when we made that decision. It's so crazy having all three kids in different activities. I am so thankful to the grandparents for helping us out when I need kids shuttled in every which direction. Without them we couldn't do it all. It's so much fun to watch Hunter with his speedy legs on the field. He's growing up so fast and Brendon and I are really enjoying seeing him get the sports bug!

September 4 Kolton Keith Lowery was born

On September 4, my sister Kayla and her husband Aaron welcomed their first child to their family. He's a true blessing and miracle. We thank God and prayers for taking care of him.

Hunter's 7th Birthday - August 20

Even as a write Hunter's 7th birthday I have a hard time believing that my baby is SEVEN! Where did the time go? I thought I told him to stay little forever! As you can see, he's not listening and my little monster is growing up on me. We celebrated his 7th birthday on August 20 and had a party at Pump It Up with his friends and family. I am so proud of Hunter. He brings so much joy and laughter to our home. I tell him all the time that even though he's getting bigger he will always be my baby! :)
My three Hoffmann nephews.....I am so proud of these adorable guys!
Hunter with his cousins: Brody, Braden and Collin
Hunter with best buds Cooper and Charlie
One of my favorite things about Hunter is his energy and love for life. He usually has a smile on his face and seems to make the best of everything that his sent his way. When you watch him play he is so happy and its contagious to everyone around him. He makes friends with everyone.....there's not a person he won't play with. He's playing soccer, football and baseball. During recess at school he loves to play kickball with his other classmates. He is ALL BOY!!!! He'll watch football with his dad and ask questions about plays and rules. I think it makes Brendon so proud. He finally has a guy on his team!!! The two boys are going to have to stick together so they can handle the three girls in our house.
We are so proud of you Hunter! Your smile and laugh is contagious and you bring so much happiness to our family! We love you little man!!!!! Happy Birthday my baby!

DMA Solo

I try to be so "tech savy" but I'll be honest.......I know very little. I finally figured out how to post this link on the blog postings. Click on the link below to see Makenzie's solo that won her Petite Miss Dance of America. What you won't see is the tears rolling down my proud face as she performed and the rest of the family holding their breath through every leap and flip.
We love you Makenzie! We are so proud of you!
