40 years ago my mom started the tradition of sending out a family picture for the family Christmas card. Everyone in the family had to be represented in the picture. Just like her, I started this tradition with my family and we've held tight to our commitment. Through 15 years we've been able to send out a card at Christmas time and I have the sweetest people tell us how much they love seeing our picture. I appreciate their comments, and I enjoy going back and seeing how much the kids have changed through the years. However, this little blog post will show you how difficult it is to produce a picture each year. This year consisted of close to 50 takes to get the ONE that would be just right for the card. Below are a FEW of the outtakes. Some years we've had tears, others we've had family members storm off mad when it's all over. However, this mommy is consistent (maybe a little OCD) and we keep trying until the perfect picture has been taken. :) This year I was determined to get our three puppies in the picture. I accomplished the task, but I didn't accomplish getting the chickens in the picture with us as well. Darn! Maybe another year. :)Wednesday, December 1, 2010
